Stride Tool Announces New Triple Head 180° Tube Bender

Imperial® 470-FH Designed Especially for Automotive Applications

GLENWILLOW, Ohio (March 10, 2005) – Stride Tool Inc., a worldwide designer and manufacturer of specialty hand tools, today introduced its new Imperial® 470-FH Triple Head 180° Tube Bender, which features Imperial’s patented Roto-Lok™ action. This important feature allows the new tool to bend tubing 90°, rotate and lock into a new position, and bend the tubing up to another 90°.

“This tool is an enhanced version of our very popular 370-FH Triple Head Bender,” said Roc Tyson, Stride Tool marketing director. “It is especially effective for automotive applications, where space for repair operations is often limited.” 

The 470-FH can make smooth, tight-radius 180° bends because it features optimized radius forming grooves. These grooves allow the user to bend the tubing in the smallest radius possible to enable tighter turns and minimize the amount of space taken by the bends. It also contains a tube alignment window in the bender arm that makes the bend easier and more precise because the user can sight exact points on the forming shoe and tubing. The 470-FH can manipulate bends in soft copper, aluminum and thin-walled steel tubing in 3/16-, 1/4-, 5/16- and 3/8-inch diameters.           

“Our Roto-Lok feature permits repositioning the lever arm handle when it approaches parallel, and that means elimination of handle crossing, while improving control,” Tyson said. “The 470-FH requires less effort to use and simplifies fabricating bends up to 180°.”
